Budapest, October 14-21 ... a trip for pleasure tacked on to a business trip of Jim's.
The city was easy to spend a week in- so much to see, and very accessible. We ate lots of good food (traditional Hungarian at Gerleczy, daily breakfast at the Four Seasons, Indian one night, LEMON SORBET every night). Jim and I went to a ballet the Hungarian Opera House, something out of our element in more ways than one. It was awesome. We bought rugs and tablecloths at the Esceri flea market, did a bus tour, wandered the House of Terror, took panoramic photos atop the Citadel (where I got left by the bus, whoops). I walked through Great Market Hall, climbed up Castle Hill, indulged daily in lattes, devoured a few books, went running, and walked Jim to Budapest's Bikram Yoga studio. Budapest welcomed us with scarf and sweater weather, and dappled sunlight.
